i am in love with food right now

I read this page in Camilla Morton's How to Walk in High Heels (a GREAT book by the way) on how to poach eggs. I instanly had a craving for eggs Benedict! So I searched some videos on how to make them. And hurray! All thanks to Chef John. He's gooooood :D He presents his video recipes in a way the we could realistically follow.

First: The Hollandaise Sauce

Second: Poached Eggs

Lastly: Preparing eggs Benedict

I would definitely make some tomorrow.
Sunday mornings + eggs Benedict + hot chocolate + good company= the good life :)

selena, selena

Most people I know dislikes Selena Gomez, but I think she's great. I really love her face and I enjoy watching her on Wizards of Waverly Place in a not so long time ago,he he. And I like her new song! She wore 3 outfits which are so age-appropriate. And she really is cute. *girlcrush* :D

outfit 1:

flirty flirty. I love the necklace but I'm half-hearted about the tights

outfit #2:

My favorite! Especially her earrings! *clap clap* to the stylist

outfit #3:

la la la, cute :)

*I like the way you know who you are and to me it's exciting la la la* -Naturally, Selena Gomez

I'M NOT DONE WRITING MY PAPERS! haha

biologylove

hi everyone! I have been so busy these days. All thanks to exams, papers and reports. But lo and behold! Going to school is actually fun :)

I just had this random thought of stuff that I have learned in college that made me say those oohs and aahs. Some of these are:
  • Almonds originally contain poisonous compounds like cyanide. A defective nut without any of these substances were the ones cultivated by agriculture today. It's birth defect that is actually a good thing.
  • A strawberry is not a berry :D It's a type of fruit called achene wherein it's an aggregate of numerous flower ovaries. Example of berry fruits are tomatoes and guava.
  • The red stem of a santan flower is actually a part if its petal. So it is a trumphet-shaped flower.
  • Our closest relative when it comes to physiological processes in our bodies aren't monkeys but pigs. (oink!)
  • Sea cucumbers could get rid of their organs when subjected to stress. They could regenerate them later. It's a process called evisceration. It looks gross. Check the video
  • Deserts are growing biomes. From occupying 1/8 of the earth, now it's 1/5.
  • The coconut fruit is the coconut seed :)
  • If you have an itching bum when the time's around 4 or 5 pm, most probably you got pinworms laying its eggs at the hole. :/

  • There are whales called Right Whales. They were called as such because humans refer to them as the "right whale to hunt". They're the most endangered whale species.
lastly..
  • Natural ingredients does not necessarily mean that they're good for our health. Plants have tons of substances that contain poison that protects them from being consumed.
That's it! Brain food :D
